Frequently Asked Questions

Below is a compiled list of questions I am asked by almost every client I have worked with. I am hoping this helps you on your web presence journey.

Design & Branding

Why should I use a logo throughout my branding?

A logo is a visual representation of your brand. It helps people quickly identify your business and creates a sense of unity across all your marketing materials.

Why shouldn't I simply enlarge a small image?

Enlarging a small image can result in pixelation, which makes the image appear blurry and unprofessional. It's best to start with high-quality images that are large enough for your desired use.

What image formats should I provide for website design?

Common image formats for websites include JPEG, PNG, and GIF. JPEG is generally suitable for photographs, while PNG is better for images with transparency or sharp edges. GIF is often used for animated images.

Security & SEO

What's the difference between a website and a blog, and do I need both?

A website is like your online business card or storefront – it's where people go to learn about your business and what you offer. A blog is more like a digital magazine where you can share posts and updates. While a blog can be a useful tool, you don't necessarily need both a website and a blog.

Why do I need a website if I already have social media?

Social media is great for connecting with customers, but it shouldn't replace your website. Think of your website as your online home base – it's where you have full control over how you present your business, and it's always available, unlike social media posts.

What is SEO and why is it important?

SEO stands for search engine optimization, and it's all about making sure your website shows up when people search for stuff related to your business. It's like having a really good salesperson that works for you around the clock, bringing in potential customers.

Graphic Design

What are emotes?

Emotes are small images or icons used to express emotions or ideas in digital communication, such as online chats, forums, and social media. They are often used to convey feelings that are difficult to express with words alone.

Why are emotes used?

  • To express emotions: Emotes provide a quick and easy way to convey a wide range of emotions, from happiness and excitement to sadness and anger.
  • To add humor: Many emotes are used for humorous purposes, to lighten the mood of a conversation or to add a touch of irony.
  • To emphasize a point: Emotes can be used to emphasize a particular point or idea, making it more memorable or impactful.
  • To create a more engaging conversation: Using emotes can make online conversations more fun and engaging, as it helps to create a sense of connection and rapport between participants.

What are emotes used for?

  • Online chatting: Emotes are commonly used in online chat rooms and messaging apps to express emotions and add personality to conversations.
  • Social media: Emotes are also popular on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, where they can be used to react to posts, express opinions, and engage with other users.
  • Gaming: Many online games feature emotes that can be used by players to communicate with each other, express emotions, or celebrate victories.
  • Forums and discussion boards: Emotes can be used in forums and discussion boards to add context to posts and make them more engaging.

What is your pricing on emote design?

Emotes are priced at $20.00 each. You can also purchase a three-pack for $50 or a five-pack for $75. Please note that these prices are for use on streaming platforms like Twitch and for your social media. If you'd like to use the designs for merchandise, publications, or other commercial projects, the cost will be determined during a consultation.

Can a logo really make that much of a difference?

You bet! A good logo makes you look professional and established. It shows customers that you care about how you're presenting yourself. Plus, people are more likely to remember a company with a cool logo.

What makes a logo successful?

The best logos are simple, memorable, and relevant to your business. They should look good on everything from a giant billboard to a tiny website icon. And most importantly, they should reflect your company's personality and values.

The cost of a logo design depends on several factors, including complexity and the specific needs of your project. I work closely with you to understand your vision and create a unique design that perfectly represents your brand.
